Rana Daggubati hints at a possible Hindi remake for Samantha Akkineni’s ‘Oh Baby’

Released amid decent expectations, Samantha Akkineni’s ‘Oh Baby’ is running to packed houses in both the Telugu states with incredible laurels from all quarters. Along with immense critical acclaim, the romantic comedy has received a big thumbs-up from all age-groups of audience and amassed a worldwide gross of Rs 17 crore in the opening weekend. Directed by lady filmmaker BV Nandini Reddy, ‘Oh Baby’ is the official remake of South Korean superhit drama ‘Miss Granny’.
It’s already evident that the film was bankrolled and distributed by Rana Daggubati’s home banner, Suresh Productions. Recently, the makers held a success meet for ‘Oh Baby’ and the Bhallaladeva of Tollywood made his presence. Hinting at a possible Hindi remake, Rana told the reporters that “It is a story originally written in Korean and adapted into many languages in the world. And definitely will look at making it soon in Hindi.”
‘Oh Baby’ marked the return of veteran actress Lakshmi to the Telugu screen after quite some time. She fitted the bill perfectly as a 70-year-old grandma and her screen-presence added a lot of value to the frame. While Rajendra Prasad and Rao Ramesh are seasoned performers who can nail any role with ease, Naga Shaurya is the surprise addition in this cast.
