Red is not just a thriller, but a complete family entertainer: Ram Pothineni

As Ram Pothineni starrer RED is all set to release on January 14, fans are eager to find out what the thriller has in store in terms of the plot and storyline. On Tuesday, two days before the release of the film, the Hyper actor revealed that the film is not just an edge-of-the-seat thriller but has emotions and hard-hitting dialogues for families to watch on the big screen during Sankranthi.
In an interview, Ram Pothineni revealed about his character and the reason why he chose the film.He said, “I enjoyed playing a dual role in RED and I am surprised at how people are connecting with my portrayal of the bad boy in the film. The reason I signed the film was that it can’t be categorised into a thriller solely. Along with being an intriguing thriller, it also has a beautiful family track and a well-written story. The dialogues of the film are massy and will be remembered for a long time. You can take your father, mother, grandparents, boyfriend/girlfriend to the theatre and everybody would love it.”
On the prep, the iSmart Shankar actor spoke about how he had to put on a lot of weight to look the part for the film. He said, “In my earlier film, I had to look lean as that was the demand of the character. But in RED, I had to switch between the two roles so I had to put on seven kgs and I am sure that the hard work will pay off when people would see me o screen.”
This crime thriller, directed by Kishore Tirumala is an official remake of the 2019 Tamil superhit Thadam. Nivetha Pethuraj. Malvika Sharma and Amritha Aiyer are essaying the female lead in this film whereas Hebbah Patel will be seen in a special song grooving with Ram Pothineni.
