Samantha, Gunasekhar and Mohan Babu's film 'Shaakuntalam' gets a new release date!

‘Shaakuntalam’ is an upcoming Pan-India historical film written and directed by Gunasekhar. The film was supposed to release today February 10, 2023, but was pushed further due to 3D conversion, Post-production, and other pending work. Today the makers took to their social media handle and announced the new release date with a poster. Accordingly, the film will release on April 14, 2023.

'Shakuntalam' is based on a popular play Abhijnanasakuntalam by Kalidasa and it features Samantha in the titular role of Shakuntala while Dev Mohan will be seen as Dushyanta, the King of the Puru Dynasty. While other actors such as Mohan Babu, Jisshu Sengupta, Madhoo, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla will be playing other important roles in the film.
The film’s cinematography was handled by Sekhar V. Joseph, while its music and background score is composed by Mani Sharma while its editing is taken care of by Prawin Pudi. The film will be released in All major Film languages as a Pan-Indian film on 14th April 2023.
