Samantha Ruth Prabhu Photos: Sizzling pictures of the philanthropic beauty with brains

Newly married Samantha Ruth Prabhu, nee Akkineni, is an established and popular actress in the Telugu and Tamil film industries.
Samantha was recently appointed the ambassador for Telangana handlooms by the government of Telangana. Born to a Malayali mother and Telugu father, the youngest of her family was brought up in Chennai. Despite being half Malayalai and half Telugu, Samantha has made it clear that she sees herself as a Tamilian as that and English is that she grew up speaking.
A commerce graduate, Samantha was modelling when she was discovered by director Ravi Varman in 2008 for his film ‘Moscowin Kavery’. But it wasn’t till 2010, that she would make her Telugu debut with her now husband, Naga Chaitanya, in ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’. She auditioned for the film in 2009 and was selected for the role of Jessie. Right from the start, Samantha had a lucrative career and was appreciated for her acting prowess.
Through the years, the star has worked in big budget films with prominent names in the industry. But, other than her films, Samantha is equally known for her philanthropic ventures and her NGO Pratyusha Support, which provides medical support to women and children. The actress has since its inception, donated her earnings from endorsements, product launches and inauguration events for the cause.
