Sekhar's Anaamika premieres on TV before its release

There has been quite a lot of buzz surrounding Sekhar Kammula's Anaamika, a remake of Bollywood film Kahani that starred Vidya Balan. The buzz, however, has been negative, to say the least. There were news that Sekhar and the producers were upset and angry with the film's lead and the only big star, Nayanthara as she was not seen promoting the film.Well, the negative publicity seems to have worked in the film's favour. Taking a cue and in order to generate more buzz about the film, Sekhar Kammula decided to premiere the first reel of the film on TV. Now, this is the first time something like this has happened ' premiering a part of the film on TV even before its release. The film that released on Thursday was received with mixed response. While some said it was well adapted to Telugu sensibilities, like Sekhar himself had said earlier, others were of the opinion that the remake falls flat in front of the original.
