Shruti Haasan mourns death of Balu Mahendra

Balu Mahendra was not only an iconic cinematographer and director, but also a humble person who inspired several youngsters. ���Balu Mahendra was quite close to my family because he was really fond of my father (Kamal Haasan). I didn���t get to spend much time with him when I was a kid, but I���ve had the opportunity to interact with him on numerous occasions after I made my debut as an actress,��� Shruti Haasan recalls.
The veteran director was quite supportive about her music career and recalling one such incident, she reveals, ���After Unnai Pol Oruvan released, I remember, how thrilled he was with my work and he told me to not give up scoring music. I think, like me, a lot of people found inspiration in him and his passion for cinema. He made films that he believed in and he wanted all of us to believe in the work we were doing. He was a gem of a person.���
The actress will soon join the sets of her upcoming film Race Gurram in Hyderabad and a song is going to be shot on Shruti Haasan and Allu Arjun from next week. In April, she���s expected to join the team of her upcoming Tamil film in Hari���s direction.
