Telugu senior actor Vizag Prasad, who is popular for his character artist and villainous roles, passed away in the wee hours of Sunday. According to reports, the actor suffered from a chronic health condition from a long time and breathed his last at around 3 am. Vizag Prasad was 75.

Vizag Prasad is the stage name of Kollam Parvati Varaprasada Rao, who has essayed the character roles in over 175 films in the Telugu film industry.

The actor started his career in 1985, with the titular role in the film named 'Babai Abbai', starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Anitha Reddy in lead roles. Helmed by Jandhyala Subramanya Sastry, the film got him recognition. But his ticket to fame was ‘Nuvvu Nenu' starring late Uday Kiran where his powerful performance as Uday Kiran’s father fetched him several laurels.
After this, Vizag Prasad started to get several offers in Tollywood, slowly and steadily becoming the go-to actor for character and villainous roles. Some of his memorable films are 'Idhi Maa Prema Katha’ 'Allari Bullodu', and 'Ranivari Bangla' and others. Apart from Tollywood, Vizag Prasad has also acted in a Tamil film ‘Unnal Mudiyum Thambi’, starring Kamal Haasan.
He is survived by his wife Vidyawati and their two children named Ratna Prabha and Ratna Kumar. The news has come as a shock to the showbiz world. Celebs have been expressing their condolences on the social media.
