Telugu Film Industry to stay away from all its film-related work on Nov 16 to mourn the demise of Superstar Krishna

The Movie Artistes Association (MAA) deeply mourns the sudden demise of Shri. Ghattmaneni Krishna, a pioneer of the Telugu film industry, in the early hours of November 15, 2022. By virtue of his multifaceted personality as an actor, producer, director, and politician; and his immense services to the film industry, Shri. Krishna’s demise has thrown the entire fraternity of the Indian film industry, particularly Tollywood, into shock and left a big void.

It is known that the Telugu film producers council (TFPC) released a press note this afternoon saying that the Telugu film Industry would stop functioning tomorrow, the 16th of November to mourn the Legendary Telugu actor Krishna's sudden demise. By virtue of his multifaceted personality as an actor, producer, director, and politician; and his immense services to the film industry, Shri. Krishna’s demise has thrown the entire fraternity of the Indian film industry, particularly Tollywood, into shock and left a big void.Shri. Krishna garu proved himself as an icon of experiments, innovations, and gun-sure success in filmmaking. He holds enigmatic sway over the film-lovers of not only Tollywood but all over South and in the Hindi belt, as he enjoys the unique distinction with hundreds of fans associations. As the proprietor of Sri Padmalaya Studios, he produced several blockbusters and sustained the growth and economy of the Telugu film industry when it was in its transitional phase from erstwhile Chennai to Hyderabad. He had also served the MAA as its President.The veteran star’s contributions speak volumes of his gigantic services to filmmaking in the South Indian film industry, having diversified his talents as the pioneer of technical genres such as 70MM Scope, Eastman Colour, and DTS Sound system, which had greatly enhanced the prestige and glamour of our Tollywood, with over 350 movies to his credit, and is the first to enjoy the distinction as the Super-Star.
The Government of India had rightly honoured Shri. Krishna with “Padma Bushan” Purashkar, while other Awards such as Nandi, Filmfare, and Lifetime Achievement, besides an honorary doctorate enrich his name and fame for the massive legacy behind him.As a mark of high respect for Shri. Krishna, the Movie Artists Association will observe the Day of Mourning on November 16, 2022, and pay rich tributes to him.
