The ‘Raja Saab’ is one of the most anticipated Telugu films of 2026, directed by Maruthi, and marking the Rebel Star's return to the big screen. The horror-comedy is gearing up for its theatrical release on January 9, 2026, after facing multiple delays. The major hurdle was its high-value OTT deal, which stalled the project for months. Now, reports indicate that a leading streaming platform has acquired the rights.According to OTTplay, the makers struggled to lock an OTT partner because of the hefty price they wanted. Even major platforms were hesitant, despite an early trailer drop that intended to boost demand. Eventually, JioHotstar took the lead and secured the digital rights for a strong but more realistic price. The movie was made on a massive budget of Rs 350 crore, of which half goes into Prabhas' salary.The film follows a lively youngster who constantly chases shortcuts to make quick money. His financial troubles push him toward selling his ancestral home. What seems like an easy escape soon turns complicated when he learns the house is haunted by the spirit of his grandfather.The film presents an exciting lineup. Malavika Mohanan debuted in Telugu cinema, joining Prabhas in a pivotal role. Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar are in important roles. The film also features seasoned performers like Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani in strong supporting roles. Music composer Thaman adds energy to the story with his dynamic soundtrack.
