‘The Raja Saab’ release: Prabhas’ missing 'old-man look' scenes added; confirms Maruthi
‘The Raja Saab’ starring Prabhas and directed by Maruthi was released in the theatre on January 9. Amidst the fanfare and much anticipation for the film, the movie turned out to receive mixed reviews from the audience. However, leaving the criticism about the messy screenplay of the film, fans were also left disappointed after Prabhas’ look as an old man was missing in theatres during its initial run.
Speaking about the added minutes of the film, he claimed that fans will enjoy Prabhas’ swag and see the real Raja Saab. “We have also sharpened the film based on audience feedback,” he said.
Maruthi confirms addition of deleted scenes
According to a report by CineExpress, speaking of the film director Maruthi, shared that the scene, which featured in trailers, where Prabhas is seen in an old get-up, has been added for the theatrical run. Explaining the reason behind it, he said, “Confirming the addition of the missing scenes, Maruthi said, “Many people called me asking about Prabhas’ old get-up that was shown in the trailer. We couldn’t include it initially, but from this evening onwards, audiences can watch those scenes in theatres. We have also added the rooftop action episode.”Speaking about the added minutes of the film, he claimed that fans will enjoy Prabhas’ swag and see the real Raja Saab. “We have also sharpened the film based on audience feedback,” he said.
Maruthi on mixed response to the film
Maruthi also gave his thoughts about the film receiving mixed reviews. He shared that a movie’s performance cannot be judged on the first day. He shared that when attempting a film which explores something different usually takes time and then picks up. “A new kind of subject needs a big star, and Prabhas encouraged me to attempt something different. Some intellectual audiences liked the film, while others couldn’t connect with it. But a film’s result cannot be judged in just one day. Such films take time and usually pick up slowly. We can decide the outcome after ten days,” he said.Producer explains technical delay
Additionally, the producer of the film, TG Vishwa Prasad, also confirmed the addition of the minutes in the film explains the reason for it as per Hindustan Times. “There’s a 4-minute content of Prabhas in his old avatar that’s missing in the movie. One week back, due to an unfortunate incident and the server being down, we had the output, but it needed cleanup and minor corrections. We have done it and sent it to theatres now,” he said.Top Comment
