Varun Tej is gearing up for the release of his first pan-India film, '
Matka', which has become the most expensive project of his career. Directed by
Karuna Kumar the film is a period gangster drama set against the backdrop of gambling, spanning over two decades, from 1958 to 1982. Varun will be portraying a character that transitions from youth to old age.
Currently, as per a report by Gulte, the final shooting schedule is taking place at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. This crucial last leg of the shoot involves major scenes with the lead cast, and once this is completed, it will mark the end of production for 'Matka'. Post-production work is already in full swing, and the filmmakers are preparing to kickstart an extensive promotional campaign soon.
