Having gone on floors in early 2020, Ahishor Solomon’s Wild Dog, featuring Nagarjuna,
Saiyami Kher, Dia Mirza and Ali Reza, resisted several offers from OTT platforms and is finally gearing up for a theatrical release on April 2. The filmmakers insist that this film deserves to be seen on the big screen.
“Given the Covid-19 pandemic, we had considered a digital release.
But this film is meant to be watched on the big screen and once theatres reopened, we stuck to our guns and are thrilled to see the film release in theatres,” says producer Anvesh Reddy.
Wild Dog, which is produced by
Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy under Matinee Entertainment, has been shot in several locations in India, including Mumbai, Hyderabad,
Rohtang Pass and Manali. “The reason for choosing real locations was to lend authenticity to the story. Even the sound mixing and designing was carefully done, complete with Dolby Atmos sound to lend an immersive experience,” adds co-producer NM Pasha.
Agreeing director Ahishor Solomon says Wild Dog has a powerful story that deserves to be told on the big screen.“Wild Dog is inspired by India’s biggest undercover operation. The people of this country to deserve to know the story of the brave officers who kept our country safe during difficult times,” says Solomon, adding, “We kept things as real as possible. We shot at real places in Mumbai, Hyderabad and even in a forest in risky locations to make sure it is raw, authentic and impactful.”
