It seems one more headache has knocked on the ‘Jersey’ doors amid the plagiarism controversy and this time it is the writer. The producers are now under tension as a petition has been filed in the court to stop the release of the film after 3 years of the original film's release in Telugu. An author from Bollywood named Rupersh Jaiswal is now reportedly claiming that the Jersey makers have copied his script just before the new release date was announced.
He claims in 2007 he wrote the story titled ‘The Wall’ and registered the script. The film was earlier made in Telugu, there were no objections that came from anyone until now. Since the movie is getting released in Hindi a Hindi writer has gone to the court accusing the copyright of the content. We’ll have to see how the ‘Jersey’ team will overcome this obstacle.
Ever since the natural star
Nani film ‘Jersey' got remade into Hindi with
Shahid Kapoor, there have been lots of problems with the Hindi version of the movie either one way or the other.
Telugu producers Nagavamshi,
Dil Raju and Bollywood filmmaker Aman Gill were teamed up to remake the film under the direction of its original director Gautham Tinnanuri in Hindi. The film was delayed at first due to Covid protocols after making all the arrangements to release the film on December 31 last year.
Recently after the film locked its April 14 release date, it got postponed yet again due to the ‘KGF-2’ mania everywhere to avoid competing with it at the box office and now the film is slated for an April 22 release.
