Mahi V Raghav’s YSR biopic ‘Yatra’ starring
Mammootty marks the comeback of the Malayalam star in Tollywood.
The film that has successfully completed one week in theatres will soon see the team celebrating its success. The film shows the incidents from the late CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s life that drove him to go on a
padayatra
during his election campaign, changing the face of Indian politics.
The film had reportedly grossed Rs 5.92 Cr worldwide in five days since its release and even more so later on. Despite receiving stiff competition from Karthi and Rakul Preet’s ‘Dev’, the film has managed to hold on its own.
The film has raked in Rs 9.3 lakh in Eluru alone at the end of its six day run and Rs 8.8 lakh at RTC X Road, Hyderabad. With no big films slated for release till February 22, the film is expected to have a good run in the coming days too. The film’s run has reportedly however been cut short in the US due to the release of the Bollywood Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gully Boy’. ‘Yatra’ also stars Jagapati Babu, Suhasini Maniratnam, Ashrita Vemuganti and Rao Ramesh in key roles.
