Allu Sirish,
Surbhi,
Srinivas Avasarala and
Seerat Kapoor starrer ‘Okka Kshanam’ releases on December 28 amidst high expectations. Directed by Vi Anand, with music by Mani Sharma, the teaser and trailer of the film have been received well, bringing up the curiosity of viewers.
‘Okka Kshanam’ charts the journey of four individuals and showcases how their lives align together. The film charts the journey of Jeeva and how his life parallels that of Srinivas Avasarala’s character.
The same happens to his girlfriend, played by Surbhi, whose life parallels that of Seerat Kapoor’s character. While many look forward to the film with anticipation, we give you five reasons why you should watch it:
The concept of the film The concept of ‘Okka Kshanam’ is something unique to Telugu cinema. While it’s not like Tollywood has not been experimental in the past, there are few films that have come out in the sci-fi and purely thriller genre through the years, with most of them preferring to stick to drama or romance. The fact that ‘Okka Kshanam’ is taking a pure leap of faith in a new direction with the parallel lives concept is laudable.
The way it has been shot Not only does the film not follow the same old tropes of Telugu cinema, it follows the concept of parallel life, which sounds interesting. Reports state that it is not just the story that is strong in its concept; even the fight scenes will not feature any strings or martial arts gimmicks. Raw and real is what ‘Okka Kshanam’ is apparently all about.
Vi Anand’s directorial skills Vi Anand has a filmmaking and directing style all of his own. Be it ‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada’ or ‘Tiger’, the director has created a niche for himself in the industry. Unafraid to take chances and always coming up with unique concepts, Vi Anand’s ‘Okka Kshanam’ has high expectations riding on it due to this. The sci-fi fanboy loves larger-than-life films and it’s a given he wouldn’t settle for something subpar for this film.
The actors were given freedom to interpret What many do not know is that Vi Anand has a unique way of making films. He does his job as a director and guides his actors instead of instructing them, unlike many others. He allows his actors to interpret and get a feel of the characters, letting them emote and react as they see fit. It would be interesting to see if such a style of filmmaking would pay off for a film as risky as this one.
The research that went into it Vi Anand recently revealed to Hyderabad Times that he has a habit of keeping notes and files on such unusual concepts. He had said, “I have come across many unique concepts through the years and one of them is parallel life. I’ve had notes and files about such unusual things for the past nine years. I do it out of passion, curiosity and interest, not just because I want to turn them into films. That’s how I know of this concept and it has come to use now. I believe this concept is one point that will engage the audience throughout the film.”
