‘What’s wrong with people?’: YouTuber flags dangerous broken glass scattered across this Goa beach

A morning walk on a Goa beach turned unexpectedly frustrating for YouTuber Geeky Ranjit. While walking along Morjim Beach, he noticed something sticking out of the sand near the shoreline. It wasn't a shell or a piece of driftwood. It was broken glass.Then he spotted another piece. And then a few more.According to Ranjit, several shards from broken bottles were lying scattered across the beach. Some were clearly visible, but others were hidden under wet sand or sitting just beneath a thin layer of seawater. The kind you'd never notice until it was too late.Anyone who has spent time at a beach knows that most people walk around barefoot. That's part of the experience. Which is exactly why the sight of broken glass bothered him.Instead of walking away, Ranjit started picking up the pieces himself. A few people nearby joined in and together they collected around eight or nine sharp fragments from the area.Later, he shared the incident on X.His post wasn't angry as much as it was baffled. He questioned why people continue leaving broken bottles behind at public places, especially beaches where families, children and tourists spend hours walking around without footwear.What made it worse, he pointed out, was that some of the glass pieces were sitting under shallow water. You could easily step on one without ever seeing it.The post quickly got people talking.Many users said they had come across similar scenes during trips to Goa and other tourist destinations. One person recalled going to collect seashells with a friend and finding discarded beer bottles instead. Others shared stories about littered beaches, parks and picnic spots.Before long, the conversation shifted from Goa to a much bigger problem.People started debating civic sense.Some blamed poor public behaviour. Others pointed towards the lack of dustbins and proper waste disposal facilities. But most seemed to agree on one thing — somebody had to leave those bottles there in the first place.For many, that was the most disappointing part.Goa's beaches are among the biggest reasons people travel there. Yet it only takes a handful of careless visitors to create a problem for everyone else.And in this case, it wasn't just an eyesore.
