Odh – maitritil avyakt bhavna Movie Review {2.5/5}: Critic Review of Odh – maitritil avyakt bhavna by Times of India

Story: The story revolves around two teenagers who are great friends and stand by each other in difficult times. But does the society perceive a guy and a girl as just friends? Review: Divya (Ulka), the daughter of the sarpanch of Masurdi village (Joshi) and Ganesh (Towar), a tea vendor study in the same college and become good friends. Life seems to be going good until, succumbing to the societal pressure, Divya’s father decides to marry her off against her wish. Quite obviously, our hero, Ganesh, comes to her rescue. They decide to run away from the village and reach Mumbai. It is here that they are introduced to the big bad world. Will they sustain or perish? The way in which the film begins makes you wonder if Odh is a rip-off of Sairat, featuring the tragic love story of a rich girl and poor guy. But, you are constantly reminded that the protagonists are just good friends and not partners.Directed by Nagesh Darak and SR Towar, Odh has an interesting plot that is deflated by poor screenplay and average cinematography. The film could’ve been crisper with good editing, but what disappoints you the most is the lead actor’s performance. Ganesh is unable to match up to the leading lady Ulka, who excels in every scene. However, seasoned actors like Bhau Kadam, who plays the role of a social activist by the day and a sex-racket kingpin by the night, and Mohan Joshi save the film from becoming a total waste. Odh disappoints on multiple levels and you won’t be missing much if you don’t watch this one.
