Bisilu Kudure Movie Review : Farmers’ issues take centrestage

Critic's Rating: 4.0/5
Plot: Bisilu Kudre showcases how farmers are suffering due to the lack of coordination between various departments of the government.

Movie review: After their father's death, Chikkegowda and his elder brother share their ancestral property. The elder brother moves to Bengaluru in search of a livelihood. On the other hand, Chikkegowda, who has been tilling the land since his grandfather's time, sells half an acre of his land at a low price and gives that money as a bribe so that he can own the remaining portion of the land.

But, the forest department fences his land and Chikkegowda receives a notice about encroachment of forest land. Chikkegowda collapses as soon as he hears the news.

Farmers are considered the backbone of the country. However, this movie shows how the system works against the welfare of the farmers. The confusing policies and rules of the government, and the clash between the departments has been highlighted. This movie touches upon burning issues like how employees shamelessly resort to bribes to ensure farmers' works are done.

Sampath Maitreya , who played the role of Chikkegowda, has carried the entire film on his shoulders. The songs in the movie complement the story and situations. Conveying the plight of thousands of farmers in Bisilu Kudre makes the audience think. It also has a message that the rules made by man should not take away the life of a farmer.
