SUIT's first-ever scientific images

SUIT utilized a range of scientific filters to capture images of the Sun's photosphere and chromosphere within a specific wavelength. Having been powered on on November 20, SUIT successfully obtained its first scientific images on December 6.

Wavelengths captured

Among the images are unprecedented full-disk depictions of the Sun across wavelengths spanning from 200 to 400 nm. Notably, the images exclude Ca II h, a wavelength associated with chromospheric emission.

Team behind SUIT

The development of SUIT involved a collaborative effort under the leadership of the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune. This collaboration included ISRO, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), the Centre for Excellence in Space Science Indian (CESSI) at IISER-Kolkata, the Indian Institute of Astrophysics Bengaluru, the Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO-PRL) and Tezpur University Assam.

Though images are good, I hope resolutions still can not be equated with NASA solar orbiter images. The sun also looks egg shaped which may obliterate wave length resolutions.
