NEW DELHI: Former
Aam Aadmi Party member, Laxmi Nagar MLA Vinod Kumar Binny, refuted the charges levelled against him by AAP leader Alka Lamba, calling it a “huge conspiracy” against him by AAP chief
Arvind Kejriwal. Shortly after he denied the charges, members of AAP women’s wing arrived at his east Delhi residence and began shouting slogans against him.
Lamba has accused Binny of maligning her reputation on social media by posting that she was running a sex trade racket in her house.
Based on her charges, the cyber cell has registered an FIR against Binny under section 66A for sending offensive messages through communication service of the IT Act and sections 354D (stalking) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.
Binny said that the account from which these posts had been made was a fake account and attributed it to Kejriwal.
“I came across the fake account two months back and filed a complaint with the police commissioner, the crime branch and the local police. Records will be available with the police. The account was created with the purpose of maligning me and I am sure this is the handiwork of Kejriwal. I do not know Alka Lamba and have not said or written anything about her,” Binny said. He has also threatened to file a defamation case against Alka Lamba.
Binny also claims to have lodged a complaint with the Ashok Nagar police station about the existence of a fake account on September 19, the same day on which Lamba made her accusations. She had filed a case against Binny and 37 others at the Kotla Mubarkpur police station.
Binny, a three time councillor, has had an extremely troubled relationship with AAP and was expelled by the party in January for allegedly carrying out anti-party activities. The reported bone of contention between Binny and AAP was the latter’s refusal to give Binny a cabinet berth in Delhi assembly. He was subsequently also denied a Lok Sabha ticket after which he publically accused Kejriwal of acting like a dictator and having failed to fulfill his promises to the people of Delhi.
