Bypoll Results 2022 Live Updates: Votes were counted for six assembly constituencies in five states and the high-profile Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. Assembly seats where bypolls were held are - Rampur and Khatauli in Uttar Pradesh, Padampur in Odisha, Sardarshahar in Rajasthan, Kurhani in Bihar and Bhanupratappur in Chhattisgarh.
While Sardarshahar and Bhanupratappur were held by the Congress, the BJP had won in Khatauli and the SP held Rampur. Padampur was with the BJD and Kurhani was held by the RJD. The by-election results will not have any impact on the central and state governments as ruling parties enjoy a comfortable majority.
There was a close fight between BJP and RJD in the by-election to the Kurhani assembly constituency in Muzaffarpur district in Bihar. Samajwadi Party candidate Dimple Yadav won in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency, while RLD and SP candidates leading in the Khatauli and the Rampur Sadar seats respectively in Uttar Pradesh. Congress candidate Savitri Manoj Mandavi is leading in Bhanupratappur, Chhattisgarh. The ruling BJD extended its lead to 8,178 votes over the BJP in the by-poll to the Padampur assembly seat in Odisha's Bargarh district. ByPoll results: Congress candidate leading in Bhanupratappur Assembly bypoll
Congress candidate Savitri Mandavi was leading by a margin of more than 14,000 votes over her nearest rival in the Bhanupratappur Assembly bypoll in Chhattisgarh, where counting was taken up on Thursday morning, officials said. As per the early trends, Mandavi was leading by a margin of 14,418 votes against Brahmanand Netam of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), an election official said. Mandavi has so far secured 30,196 votes, while Netam got 15,778 votes after nine rounds of counting, he said. Akbar Ram Korram, who is contesting as an independent, is at the third position with 15,227 votes, he added.
The ruling JD(U) candidate in Bihar is leading after 15 rounds of counting in by-election to the Kurhani assembly constituency in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. After 15 rounds of counting of votes, the JD(U)'s Manoj Singh Kushwaha bagged 54,675 votes, while his nearest rival, Kedar Gupta of the BJP, got 43,432 votes. The opposition BJP and the ruling JD(U) in Bihar are fighting neck and neck battle.
Initial trends indicate that Naveen Patnaik-led BJD is headed towards a comfortable victory in Padampur where byelection was held following the death of its five-time MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha in October. BJD’s Barsha Singh Bariha (29), the deceased MLA’s daughter, was leading by more than 8,000 votes from BJP’s Pradip Purohit (57), a former MLA after the first four rounds of counting. Congress nominee Satya Bhusan Sahu (70), also a former MLA, was struggling at a distant third position.
As per Election Commission officials, Congress candidate Savitri Manoj Mandavi was leading in Bhanupratappur with a margin of 1907 votes till 10.00 am. BJP's Bramhanand Netam trailing.
Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Dimple Yadav managed to get a huge lead of over 43,000 votes against her nearest rival Raghuraj Singh Shakya of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the counting of votes progressed for bypolls to the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat.
