Bypoll Results 2022 Live Updates: Votes were counted for six assembly constituencies in five states and the high-profile Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. Assembly seats where bypolls were held are - Rampur and Khatauli in Uttar Pradesh, Padampur in Odisha, Sardarshahar in Rajasthan, Kurhani in Bihar and Bhanupratappur in Chhattisgarh.

While Sardarshahar and Bhanupratappur were held by the Congress, the BJP had won in Khatauli and the SP held Rampur. Padampur was with the BJD and Kurhani was held by the RJD. The by-election results will not have any impact on the central and state governments as ruling parties enjoy a comfortable majority.

There was a close fight between BJP and RJD in the by-election to the Kurhani assembly constituency in Muzaffarpur district in Bihar. Samajwadi Party candidate Dimple Yadav won in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency, while RLD and SP candidates leading in the Khatauli and the Rampur Sadar seats respectively in Uttar Pradesh. Congress candidate Savitri Manoj Mandavi is leading in Bhanupratappur, Chhattisgarh. The ruling BJD extended its lead to 8,178 votes over the BJP in the by-poll to the Padampur assembly seat in Odisha's Bargarh district.
