<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">RANCHI: It was meant to be a joke, but it is not funny any more. <br /><br />The Jharkhand government has ordered a probe into how a text book containing sexual innuendoes was distributed in primary schools.<br /><br />The book, titled Superhit Jokes and authored by Harish Yadav, was given to class V students under the ''sarva shiksha abhiyan''(education for all) scheme.<br /><br />The book has come under fire allegedly over its ''vulgar'' content.<br /><br />Sample one joke: <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Is kissing healthy?" a girl asked, when she was kissed.

She got the reply: "Though it does not contain vitamin, it helps cure pain.</span><br /><br />The joke is also on some national heroes, like this one: <br /><br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">The first woman governor of the country, Sarojini Naidu, had a good sense of humour. Once she went to meet the then West Bengal Governor C Rajagopalachari.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Rajaji took Naidu to his Raj Bhavan. Rajaji showed her his bedroom and his cot in Raj Bhavan.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">While showing his beautiful cot to Naidu, he said: "What is the use of the cot for a widower and an old man like me?" </span><br /><br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">At this, Naidu replied: "I have helped you earlier many times but this time I cannot do anything."</span><br /><br />Another one reads like this: <br /><br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Shikarpuria was travelling in a bus. A woman, sitting in front of his seat, was breast-feeding her baby. Shikarpuria asked the woman "Sister! How is your baby so healthy?"</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">The woman replied: "I cannot say. I feed baby my own milk and orange juice."</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Hearing the woman''s reply, Shikarpuria asked: "Does your breast give milk or orange juice?</span><br /><br />The state''s Human Resource Development (HRD) department has instructed officials in all 22 districts to immediately withdraw the offensive textbooks.<br /><br />An enquiry has also been ordered by the department and a report has been sought in a week''s time, says Ashok Kumar Singh, secretary of the state''s HRD department.</div> </div>
