agartala: five persons, including a ruling cpi-m leader, have been injured in a bomb blast at lalcherra village of west tripura district, police said on tuesday. police said two-wheeler borne unidentified miscreants hurled crude bombs at the house of rana bahadur debbarma last night in the village under khowai subdivision injuring him and four other villagers, including a ten year old girl and fled.
the injured were shifted to g b hospital here, police added. police launched a search operation to nab the culprits and security measures have been tightened to prevent any untoward incident in the area. rana bahadur debbarma (45) is a member of state secretariat of the cpi-m. the cpi-m has condemned the bomb attack. meanwhile, the cpi-m has claimed that the four persons whose bodies were recovered from takarjala village in west tripura district o monday belonged to their party. in a statement issued today the ruling cpi-m said insurgents of the banned national liberation front of tripura (nlft) were responsible for the killing. the nlft ultras kidnapped four tribals from takarjala on sunday last and their bodies were recovered from the same village on monday.
