Give details of expensive gifts: CIC to Hudco

NEW DELHI: Failure to provide information on an RTI plea seeking details of money spent on expensive gifts and beneficiaries has prompted the Central Information Commission (CIC) to direct Hudco to furnish the information.
RTI applicant Vishwas Bhamburkar had alleged that gifts given by the PSU included gadgets like iPhones, iPads and Mont Blanc pens.Information commissioner M Sridhar Acharyulu said the officials' attitude "gives rise to suspicion that there was a serious scandal of purchasing gifts worth crores".
