INDORE: A relay hunger strike by the medicos under the banner of Junior Doctors Association (JDA) here on Monday entered the fifth day with striking doctors stepping up their agitation by holding signature campaign and surveys among the public on the issue of reservation in institutes of higher learning. "Besides continuing with the relay hunger strike in which 10 doctors participate everyday, the medicos have also organised a havan (sacrificial rite) against reservation in institutes of higher learning," Madhya Pradesh JDA general secretary, Dr Anand Rai told.
The JDA has also launched a signature campaign and is conducting survey among the people for soliciting public opinion on the issue of reservation, he said. The medicos have also distributed pamphlets in city buses to make people aware of the issue of reservation, Rai added. Meanwhile, Sarva Brahman Yuva Parishad here today took out a rally and submitted a memorandum addressed to President A P J Abdul Kalam against the reservation policy through the Indore Divisional Commissioner.
