I wasn’t reluctant to hand over case to CBI: Karnataka CM
BENGALURU: Chief minister Siddaramaiah is miffed over the manner in which the state government has been projected in public over the handling of IAS officer DK Ravi’s death. In an interview to TOI here on Tuesday, the CM, who signed the order handing over the case to the CBI, declined to comment whether the incident had impacted his government’s image.
Has the DK Ravi incident dented the image of the state government and Congress party in Karnataka?
1x1 polls
If you have anything to ask other than this issue, I am ready to speak. I have decided not to speak to the media on the Ravi issue.
Did the IAS officer’s death give a leg up to the BJP-JD(S), which had no agenda to speak during the budget session?
I have handed over the case to CBI. Let the CBI bring out the truth.
When a majority of cabinet colleagues were in favour of a CBI probe, why did you dither on this score?
There was no reluctance or hesitation on my part.
After this incident, do you plan to initiate measures to infuse confidence in the bureaucracy, which is shaken by the incident?
Who said the Karnataka bureaucracy is a demoralized lot after this incident? It is functioning efficiently and there is no need to give them a booster dose. Therefore the question of initiating any measure to boost their morale and confidence does not arise.
Has Union home minister Rajnath Singh asked the state government to speed up investigations in terrorism cases in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu?
We have not received any such communication. The police is doing its duty.
