Kanchi seer against trifurcation of J&K

TIRUPATI: Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Jayendra Saraswathi on Friday opposed the RSS'' demand for trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir.
"The very thought of trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir is highly dangerous. Such statements are harmful to the sub-continent," he said talking to reporters here.
The Sankaracharya said, "the country''s stand on Kashmir issue would get weakened by such unhealthy statements".
Opposing the Centre''s decision to allow FDI in print media, he said, "if foreign media land on Indian soil, undoubtedly our social and cultural values would be degraded".
He appealed to the government to "rethink" on the issue.
