new delhi: cricket in the country is in for a different spin with laloo prasad yadav deciding to make his debut as an administrator. no less than former maharashtra cm sharad pawar - now president of the mumbai cricket association - will be keeping him company at the working committee meeting of the cricket board on august 25. the former bihar cm, who was recently elected as president of the state cricket association, has informed the board that he will be attending the mumbai meeting.

he has also decided where he'll stay: at the cricket club of india. much is expected from the meeting, as the board will have its elections at next month's annual general meeting. the third heavyweight politician in cricket, ddca president and union law minister arun jaitley has not yet given a thought to whether he should attend the meeting, though some members are keen that he take an interest in board affairs. "as it is, my hands are full with government work and two ddca stadium projects," he said on saturday. with the realignment of forces in the board, the involvement of politicians is expected to give an interesting twist to the elections. president of the cricket association of bengal jagmohan dalmiya, whose followers said he would challenge a c muthiah for presidency, has apparently indicated he will not be taking him on. another state unit is planning to field a journalist at the board meeting - already the uttar pradesh cricket association is being represented by journalist and politician rajiv shukla.
