Mamata Banerjee discharged from nursing home

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee was discharged from a private nursing home in Kolkata where she had undergone a surgery for removing gall bladder stones.

KOLKATA: Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee was on Sunday discharged from a private nursing home in south Kolkata where she had undergone a surgery for removing gall bladder stones.
She was admitted to the nursing home on last Sunday following acute pain after which doctors suggested an immediate gall bladder operation.
Doctors attending on her said that she was fit but advised her rest for ten days.

Banerjee was diagnosed with stones in her gall bladder when she got admitted to the nursing home on December 28 at the end of her 25-day hunger strike to protest against land acquisition and alleged police atrocities at Singur.
At the time of her release from the nursing home on January 17, the attending doctor, Dr Sudarshan Ghose Dastidar, had said that she had developed gall stones which would be surgically removed at a later date.
