Minakhan election results 2026: Usha Rani Mondal wins Minakhan for Trinamool Congress

Usha Rani Mondal of the All India Trinamool Congress has won the Minakhan constituency with 92,079 votes. She defeated Rudrendra Patra of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who secured 59,787 votes, by a margin of 32,292 votes.Minakhan is a Scheduled Caste-reserved constituency in North 24 Parganas, part of the Basirhat Lok Sabha seat. It covers the rural Minakhan community development block and select panchayats, with an almost entirely rural electorate and voter turnout above 88 per cent. In 2026, sitting TMC MLA Usha Rani Mondal sought re-election against BJP's Rudrendra Patra.In 2021, Mondal won with 1,09,818 votes, defeating BJP's Jayanta Mondal by 55,830 votes — a very comfortable TMC majority. In 2016, she also won with 1,03,210 votes, defeating CPI(M)'s Dinabandhu Mondal by 42,598 votes. Mondal's back-to-back landslide wins made her one of TMC's most entrenched incumbents in North 24 Parganas, and the seat was widely regarded as safe for the party in 2026.
