NEW DELHI: Pakistani army on Sunday again violated ceasefire by firing from automatic weapons and shelling mortars along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.
The Pakistan forces initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing from small arms, automatic weapons and mortars from 07pm on Indian Army posts along the LoC in Nowshera sector, a defence spokesman said.

The Indian troops returned the fire strongly and effectively, he said.
This was the third ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the past 30 hours.
On Saturday, an Army soldier was martyred while another was critically injured as Pakistan resorted to ceasefire violation in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In another incident, yesterday, a civilian was killed during unprovoked shelling in state's Mendhar sector.
The two armies have repeatedly exchanged heavy fire this summer along the winding LoC that has left many soldiers and civilians dead on both sides.

India had summoned Pakistan High Commission official Tariq Karim on August 9 and issued a demarche "lodging strong protest" over the death of an Indian soldier in unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Krishna Ghati sector the previous day, terming it as "deplorable".
Despite repeated calls for restraint and call to adhere to the ceasefire understanding of 2003 for maintaining peace and tranquillity, Pakistan forces have carried out 301 incidents of unprovoked ceasefire violations along the LoC this year, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
