Rs 42 burger auctioned for Rs 4 lakh

But Saravana Bhavan's owner P R Shiva Kumaar did just that. Kumaar brought the prized first burger at an auction, marking the entry of McDonald's into Chennai.
The multinational fast food giant opened its first outlet in Chennai at Ascendas IT Park.
According to the outlet, the money from the auction will be donated to a city-based charity. The outlet's officials said McDonald's entry into Chennai is in line with its expansion plans for southern India.
