Tension along Assam-Meghalaya border
GUWAHATI: Tension persisted along the Assam-Meghalaya inter state border on Wednesday, the day after Karbi villagers of West Karbi Anglong district and Pnar tribal people of Meghalaya’s West Jaintia Hills district clashed using traditional weapons such as bows and arrows, reports Prabin Kalita.
Videos of Tuesday’s confrontations went viral on social media, showing people from both sides engaged in the skirmish.

On Wednesday morning, police forces from both states prevented villagers from assembling near the clash site.
