Hair care and hairstyling tips
Here’s how to devise a hair care routine for great looking tresses. Use milder shampoo and conditioners during humid weather, as hair tends to get frizzy. Pay extra attention to conditioning and nourishing treatments (hair rituals) to cut down the frizz, and drink a lot of water to rehydrate, and since the hair gets brittle and breaks easily. Vitamin nourishments should be provided through proper diet. Cleaning you hair is a must to avoid the build-up of increased sebum and sweat, leading to dandruff and hair fall, therefore shampoo the scalp well and alternate days for women, and daily for men. Regular washing also minimises itching. Do not leave your hair wet or tie it while it is wet, as this could cause dandruff. Use wide toothed combs instead of brushes. Wet hair when combed with a brush can result in split ends and breakage, especially curly and wavy hair. During summers, short haircuts are the easiest to maintain, like pixie hair-cuts. They are bold, stylish and low on maintenance. Shoulder length hair or just above the shoulder, suits most women. Experiment with gradual asymmetrical, layered asymmetrical or even geometrical-shaped haircuts. Ask your stylist for highlights and streaks that will accentuate your cut.
Steer clear of excessive styling, as the hairstyles won’t hold as much owing to humidity and with increased product and heating usage, the hair may get drier and brittle. Loose buns or a loose ponytail, are good as these do not trap much water and also protect your hair from direct exposure to the humidity.
