Hair loss is a common concern observed in men and women, where catching it early gives you the best chance to slow down the process or prevent further thinning. Balding does not happen overnight, but it begins slowly and gradually gets worse over the years. So, if you’re able to recognise the early signs, then take the necessary steps before significant hair loss occurs, as early intervention increases the effectiveness of the treatment.

Thinning on top of the crown: If you notice the crown part looking wider than before, and your scalp is more visible, then understand that you’ve started balding.
Receding hairline from the front: A receding hairline typically begins around the temples, followed by the front region and the back of the ears, where we usually see the growth of baby hair.
Hair shedding increases: If you find your pillow filled with hair strands or while using your hairbrush, then you’re balding, as this is not normal shedding and requires your attention.
Hair density loss: You will notice that your ponytail is feeling thinner and that the scalp is becoming more visible under the bright light and then understand that these are balding signs.

The most common reason is alopecia, which is a genetic hair loss issue that affects men and women. Next is hormonal imbalance, like thyroid issues and PCOD problems, which are hormonal shifts in women. Balding can also be caused by chronic stress and poor sleep cycles, whereas nutrient deficiencies can also trigger this issue. If you have a deficiency of vitamin D, iron, or protein, then you have a risk of balding.

Gentle hair care routine: Avoid tight hairstyles, heat styling, and harsh brushing, and use sulphate-free shampoos and conditioners.
Start taking a balanced diet: consume proteins like eggs and lean meats, iron like spinach and legumes, biotin and zinc like nuts and seeds, and omega-3 fatty acids like flaxseeds and salmon.
Complete your sleep cycle: practise meditation, exercise, and quality sleep, which will lower the stress hormone cortisol, which mainly contributes to hair shedding.
Opt for scalp massage sessions: every day scalp massage increases circulation and stimulates the hair follicles. So, use natural oils like rosemary and coconut oil for an added benefit.

Before starting any supplements or going on any diet, consult a doctor and then include it in your everyday routine. Early balding does not mean that the hair loss cycle is untreatable, but starting early and religiously will surely give your locks the best chance to stay healthy and in the best shape.
