Movember is here — the month where men support causes like colon and testicular cancer — by growing their moustache and beard. Besides, the month also offers them a chance to experiment with face fuzz. But, while you do that, make sure your beard smells right too. Sweat and oily skin under your beard can make it smell bad. Also, beard hair can absorb smoke, alcohol, perfume and even pollution.
To get rid of the face funk that could hang around all day and even worsen as the day progresses, try a bit of fragrant manscaping.
Tips - Using a shampoo will rob your beard/moustache off their natural oils. Use a beard wash that’s available at your salon.
- Buy a beard oil as it helps keep your facial hair soft and strong. To make one at home, take a teaspoon of plain coconut oil, some warm water and spray your favourite cologne in the mix and apply on your beard/moustache. This will compensate for the loss of oil, help your face fuzz smell good and avoid flaking and dandruff.
- Use a wide-toothed beard comb after a bath to give your beard a smooth, natural look. You can also apply some hair-wax before you comb.
- Use manly but mild aftershaves in your beard/moustache like orange, sandalwood, birch and even tobacco.
