With the rainy weather causing your locks to frizz, here are some tips to get the smooth finished look that you desire
Most Indian women are born with naturally wavy hair. However, all of us want a straight, shiny mane. The monsoon season is particularly harsh on your hair. It causes even otherwise smooth locks to frizz and misbehave. While there is always the possibility of getting your hair permanently straightened, you can opt for faster and cheaper options.

Blow dry
They key to getting this look is to blow dry your hair after washing, instead of letting it air dry. Hair tends to need extra moisture in this season, so it’s best to apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner while your hair is still damp. There are many products available in the market to give you a sleek look. Find one that suits you.
Products
Apply an anti-frizz cream all over your strands especially the ends. Look for one that contains shea butter, jojoba/almond oil or other moisturising ingredients. Take a round brush and starting at the hairline, blow dry your hair section by section. Try not to bring the hairdryer too close to your locks as they can cause damage. If your hair is very weak, spray on a heat-protective product. Finish off with a blast of cold air and a shine-infusing serum.

Iron it out
If you want a really straight look, a hair iron is the way to go. But just remember it’s not going to last long due to the humidity in Mumbai. Divide your hair in a number of small sections and iron it out. Try using a straightening balm with silicon ingredients to tame the frizzies.
Maintain it
To keep your hair looking smooth, avoid getting your hair wet in the rain. A serum and frizz-free cream can go a long way in maintaining your look. Just apply a small coin-sized amount on your mane. Avoid using rubber bands as they will cause a dent in the smooth look. Use a wide-tooth clip instead to keep your hair in place.
