Navratri 2025: 21 Maa Durga mantras and quotes to share with your friends and family
One of the most widely celebrated festivals in Hinduism, the Navratri begins today, i.e. 22 September and end on 2 October 2025 Navratri is made up of two words-- Nav meaning nine, and Ratri meaning nights. And so, Navratri is a celebration of the nine forms of Maa Durga. During these nine auspicious days, Hindu devotees fast, meditate, and pray to Goddess Durga and seek her blessings for wish fulfilment. This year, Navratri will begin on 22 September and end on 2 October 2025. As per Hindu Mythology, it is believed that after fighting the demon Mahishasur for nine days, Maa Durga finally killed him on day ten. And so, the tenth day after Navratri is celebrated as Vijaya Dashami. It is also celebrated as Dussehra, a day when Lord Ram defeated and killed the demon King Ravana. Both these festivals teach devotees to have faith as good always triumphs over evil in the end.
