On May 10, 2024, Wishes & Blessings, a Delhi-based NGO committed to helping those in need, organised the third edition of their fundraising concert, Jashn-E-Qawwali at Kamani Auditorium, Delhi.
The event was absolutely energetic, mesmerising, and soulful, and above all, it was for a good cause. The performance by the Qawwali group, Niazi Brothers, and their melodies captivated the audience throughout the concert, and nobody could resist singing along with them. From traditional Qawwali tunes to popular Bollywood hits and original compositions by the Niazi Brothers, some of the standout performances were of ‘Kun Faya Kun, Chhaap Tilak, Bhar De Jholi and Damadar Mast Kalandar.’
Over 500 people came together for the event and fundraising and the audience also consisted of children and adults from various programmes of Wishes & Blessings NGO. The women of ‘Sahas’, the children from orphanages, people from old-age homes, and the people who will work in ‘WB Rasoi’.
Founder and President of Wishes and Blessings NGO, Dr. Geetanjali Chopra also addressed the audience. She said, “We are extremely overwhelmed by the turnout and the resounding success of Jashn-E-Qawwali.
This marks the third edition of the fund raiser, with the previous two being immensely successful. The funds raised this year will directly contribute to our WB Rasoi programme, addressing the fundamental need for food among those in need.”
The funds raised from this event will support the expansion of the NGO's new initiative, WB Rasoi, that aims to provide wholesome food and meals to individuals in need and the programme has started first in Noida.
Post the completion of the Jashn-E-Qawwali event, there was also a stall outside the auditorium which showcased the work done by women who are under program ‘SAHAS’. ‘SAHAS’ is their means of livelihood and the stall hosted amazing handcrafted utility items for all genders and age-groups.
Wishes and Blessings and ‘WB Rasoi’Wishes and Blessings is a Delhi NGO, helping people across India since 2014. Founded by Dr. Geetanjali Chopra, the NGO connects donors with those in need and focuses on six causes: education, food, caring for elders, relief, help, and spreading happiness.
Previously, the NGO has led many powerful initiatives including - SAHAS and Mann Ka Tilak. Their most recent initiative has come in the form of ‘WB Rasoi’ and aims to provide fresh, hygienically made nutritious food for the needy on a daily basis. The first kitchen under this series was set up in Sector 71, Noida in February 2024.
