There are dreamy ensembles, and then there are worlds of them that you step into. This is what happened when
Genelia Deshmukh slipped into an otherworldly creation of designer
Rahul Mishra. The couture felt less like dressing up and more like dissolving into a midnight garden that was in full bloom.
This piece, worn by her, didn’t just shimmer, but it breathed through dense floral work against a dark, romantic nightfall. The gown featured embroidered florals that climbed across the full length in the shades of lilacs, greens, reds, and metallic notes. Featuring a scooped neckline with slip straps, the main bodice of embroidery dominated the room.

But what made this ensemble special was the balanced distribution of the floral motifs, which came with neat clusters and travelled upwards in a winding stem shape with subtle blooms and leaves at the sides. The hemline of the gown looked equally charming with dense detailing, whereas the low open back kept the shape from feeling overly burdened.

Picked up from Rahul Mishra’s Nargis collection, the atelier saw sleepless nights and artisans working for over eight months (243 days approximately), with 1,200 embroidery artisans coming together from across the villages in India. Each brought a different density, variation, texture, and motif, which settled beautifully against the black backdrop.
Genelia understood the assignment of keeping the focus on her ensemble and went with subtle styling notes. She wore a stunning choker necklace with matching earrings and a stack of rings from Ekaraa Jewellery and a statement solitaire ring from Dia. The ruby-toned, concentrated necklace gave a contrasting edge, which looked clean and balanced with the black outfit.

With heavily lined eyes, smoky detailing, and a nude-rose lip show, she opted for a clean girl beauty aesthetic and pulled back her hair into a neat bun, which highlighted the sensual back. Drenched in deep, dark hues with a soft hint of floral light, this gown captured a rare kind of femininity. This gown embodies a sense of mystery, power, and beauty, all presented in a delicate form.
With this piece, Genelia didn’t just wear couture, but she became a poem.
