Are you even a ’90s kid if you have not danced to Dil Toh Pagal Hai songs? Well, we all remember craving those sporty mini skirts and crop tops of Karisma Kapoor from the film, and it’s safe to say she was a fashion inspiration with killer dance moves and top-notch acting skills. Just like her evergreen collection of films, Karisma Kapoor’s fashion sense has also remained timeless.Always hopping on trends, this time Karisma started one herself, making this moment a memorable sartorial pick. She wore a black and silver EKA dress, handwoven with linen zari, and made heads turn on the red carpet. But why is this moment being celebrated?

Linen zari is a fabric associated with comfort and ease but rarely carries the potential to appear on the red carpet or hold festive value. Karisma Kapoor showed us its true potential, and now it’s stealing the show and we are digging into this moment.

She wore a tiered silhouette ensemble falling from the shoulders to the hemline, with pintucks defining its statement yoke. Decorated with a scalloped organza trim for an airy finish, the full-length dramatic ensemble came with hand-embroidered zardozi borders on the hem and neckline, bringing in a neat festive richness.
This stunning piece was crafted by weavers based in Bhagalpur, who have been in the profession for over 15 years and have mastered the art of handloom tussar, cotton weaves, and, of course, linen. Picked from the collection of Rina Singh’s EKA frames, the relaxed and flowy fit featured embellished zardozi embroidery, making it perfect for red carpet movement and festive fashion.

She paired the long dress with a Celian jacket featuring a short striped blazer and balloon-style sleeves, which gave the outfit a refined shape with a fluid touch. The hand embroidery with floral motifs on the sleeves amplified the overall look; the combination coordinated perfectly and delivered a contemporary outcome. She kept the styling chic with a sleek ponytail, soft smoky eyes, and muted mauve lips to complement the metallic palette. However, the unexpected highlight was a vintage Chanel brooch pinned to her lapel, creating a cross-cultural dialogue and matching the aura of her statement bag. Karisma carried a black calfskin quilted medallion flap bag from the same French luxury label and rounded off the look with metallic heels and a pair of oxidised stud earrings. The versatility of the silhouette made the ensemble look absolutely iconic, suitable for destination weddings, red carpets, or a stylish outing. The lightweight feel paired with the shine of linen zari turned out to be an unexpected combination that we absolutely adored. Karisma indeed rewrote festive styling with a look that is bound to grab eyeballs.
