Day 5 of the Gitanjali-sponsored Lakme Fashion Week started with designer duo Neelanjan Ghosh and Rajul who presented their line Strip Poker. Playing up partywear with patches of vodka bottles, scooters and ketchup bottles, this collection reminded us of a no-boundaries-on-design look.
There were men sporting boxer shorts with tights underneath and the concept was Why cant men wear these and look good.
Womens wear had A-line cuts with peeping tie-and-dye linings with a hint of gota. It was nice to see this bold, rebellious and young line.
Next came designer Preeti Chandra. Her outfits spoke of East-European and South American influence. There were floral tassels used. Also the Hungarian look with belted sashes on waist were interesting to see. One could also see some Mexican influence with kaftan-like, free-flowing dresses in bold prints.
The last designer was Sherina who presented her Cherie D line. Call this a darling cocktail collection, we saw some formal halter neck dresses. Lots of roses, ruffles and white, black and also orange rhinestone usage, made the outfits stand out in an elegant manner. There were models sporting bubble skirts with beads on their hemline. Very cocktail, girlish and pretty wear. Interesting session this.
