The second day of Amazon India Fashion Week saw an array of designs displayed on the glamorous ramp, but designers Samant Chauhan and Ashish N Soni dominated the day with their sheer display of creativity. Samant Chauhan showcased his collection 'Kinnaur Queen' and the inspiration behind his collection was the intensity and richness of Indo-Greek cultural exchange.
His collection captured the deep impact of Alexander's marital ties with Kinnauron, the lifestyle and cultures of the people in the region even to this day.
His collection had shades of white, gold and beige. Samant drew inspiration from the queen of Kinnaur with opulent silk and organza gowns, capes, and golden headgear. Zari work was an empowering part of his show.
This classy piece was very feminine and soft. We loved how the red silk panel drew attention to the shoulders and neck. In the second outfit, the sheer fabric with zari embroidery adorned the shoulder and the neck area. The outfits included marshalling of styles as seen in the silk panel kaftan, textured corset paired with block printed skirt, and jumpsuit layered with draped cotton silk jacket.
Ashish N Soni Titled 'The Inner Child', Ashish N Soni's collection had five young girls opening the show with a poem, followed by models taking to the ramp in skates, wearing cute dresses with famous nursery rhymes playing in the background.
Soni almost brought out the inner child of fashion lovers at the Amazon India Fashion Week SS'16.
The designer stuck to shades to black, blue and white. The outfits included interesting combination of choker necklines and fitted trousers, laundry effect bleach trench coats and hot pants.
The hairdo of the models reminded of Disney's erstwhile Minnie Mouse.
