Bollywood movies still love to show the inmates of a jail as those being made to crush stones all the time, but the reality seems to be something else altogether. If one were to go by what the inmates of Tihar Jail have been doing lately, i.e..
The inmates, who have just about finished with displaying their talents in an art exhibition (on August 12) are now doing some designing ��� yes, this is the latest addition to the various vocational training that are given to the convicts.

And where the word ���design��� comes comes in, can a fashion show be far behind? Yes, here too there will be a fashion show. And sitting in the front row will be DG Tihar Jail, BK Gupta, Law Officer Sunil Gupta and the DIG CR Garg, among others. Also present at the do will be nail design expert Poonam Sivia from Institute Art of Style, Denmark, beauty expert Sanam Habib and former cricketers Chetan Sharma and Maninder Singh.
The proceeds of this event would be utilised to facilitate free training in hairstyling, beauty & make-up to the sex-workers in Delhi���s red-light area GB Road. ���Last year, we trained them in hair styling and this year, we tend to take this a step further by initiating a similar training course for the sex workers,��� says Amzadd Habibb, son of Habib Ahmed, founder of the chain of salons. To start with, on the eve of Independence Day, a fundraising event, ���Salute to the Nation��� in association with Delhi Tihar Administration and Delhi Police will be launched. And Amzadd would be there for a 24-hour non-stop makeover for whoever drops in from 10 am on August 14 to 10 am on August 15 at the Amzadd Habibb Academy in South Ex.
And in the fashion show, ���Professional models will be wearing outfits crafted by the prison inmates. The show is being choreographed by Bollywood stylist and grooming expert Aamer Zakir. Since it���s not possible to bring the inmates to the venue, we will just put all their hand-made products on display,��� explains KC Pandey, creative director, Amzadd Habibb Academy. ���We will organise a fashion show every year now,��� adds Habibb.
