According to food experts, the first step in making the perfect pasta starts with boiling the dried pasta right. Addressing the same, Sydnee Cooke recently shared a post on Instagram, where she mentioned 11 types of pasta and how long one should boil each variety. According to her post, the boiling time is defined on the basis of 1 lb of dried pasta, which is equal to 4 servings and is boiled in 5-6 qt of salted water. She suggests always tasting for doneness, as the accuracy might differ from brand to brand and their concentration of ingredients.

This variety should be boiled for 3-4 minutes only.

According to Sydnee, Ravioli shouldn't be boiled for more than 3-5 minutes depending upon the tenderness one desires.

The perfect timing for tortellini is between 3-5 minutes, anything beyond that might lead to crumbling pasta.

This is one of the most popular varieties, and the perfect boiling time for this variety is between 9-11 minutes.

When you are preparing linguine, make sure to boil it between 9-11 minutes only for the right texture.

For Fettuccine, the perfect boiling time is between 10-12 minutes only.

If you are making Rotini or Fusilli, make sure to boil it for 10-12 minutes only.

Also known as Farfalle, this variety is perfectly boiled between 11-13 minutes.

When you are boiling penne, don't go beyond 11-13 minutes for the perfect texture and taste.

When boiling Rigatoni, don't boil it beyond 11-13 minutes.

This is also a popular pasta variety and shouldn't be boiled beyond 11-13 minutes.
