Dumplings are not just easy, but also very healthy. Enjoyed around the world, they bring together r simple dough and flavourful fillings, folded, sealed, and cooked with care. From steamed and boiled to pan-fried and soup-bathed, they make for a filling meal delight. Taste Atlas recently celebrated the dish with its Top 100 Dumplings in the World list. For the “Top 100 Dumplings in the World” list until December 15, 2025, 20,235 ratings were recorded, of which 14,730 were recognized by the system as legitimate. As per the website, Muthia is an Indian dumpling or a fritter consisting of chickpea flour, turmeric, chili powder, fenugreek, and salt. Sometimes, the combination is additionally bonded together with oil, or sweetened with sugar. Once shaped, muthia can be either fried or steamed, depending on personal preferences. Although this is a Gujarati staple, there are many varieties of muthia, made with spinach, cabbage, or gourds.

The batter is made with a combination of rice and tapioca flour, sugar, and salt, while the filling consists of shrimps, minced pork, salt, pepper, sugar, shallots, annatto oil, and green onions. The rectangular and flat dumplings are wrapped in banana leaves, then steamed, and served.
