Right way to make Bread Upma

Are you a bread lover and looking for something beyond sandwiches for breakfast? If yes, then try this South Indian Bread Upma recipe. Made with minimal ingredients, this is a filling and super easy recipe. Scroll down to read the recipe.

Ingredients


4–5 slices bread, 2 tbsp oil, ½ tsp mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1 onion, 1 green chilli, 8–10 curry leaves, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, salt to taste, 1 tbsp peanuts, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, and mixed veggies

Step 1


To begin with, heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds; let them splutter.

Next, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, and peanuts. Sauté till aromatic.

Now add onion and green chilli and cook till onions turn soft and light golden.

Add mixed veggies like carrot and capsicum and and cook for 3-6 minutes.

Add turmeric and salt and mix well. Then, add the chopped bread cubes and gently toss.

Sprinkle a little water and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Garnish with lemon juice and coriander and serve hot.
