"From March, children will be given injectable polio vaccines along with the oral vaccine during routine immunisation," said director of public health Dr K Kolandaisamy .
The state government will set up thousands of stationary and mobile booths for vaccination at hospitals and public places such as bus stops, railway stations, airports, beaches and malls.
While health workers will visit houses from Monday, parents can also take their children to any government-run health centre or hospital for administering the vaccine.
