In 2009, Mr. Manohar Singh, 63, a resident of Haldwani (Nainital), received life-altering news—he was diagnosed with cancer. At that time, a nationwide Swadeshi movement was ongoing, and amid this atmosphere of change, his health suddenly deteriorated. He was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where doctors gave him devastating news: he had only two to four months to live.Chemotherapy was initiated at the hospital. However, feeling uncertain about continuing conventional treatment and searching for an alternative path, Mr. Singh decided not to proceed further with the prescribed medications. Determined to explore other options, he returned to Kanpur and consulted a Patanjali-associated Vaidya at Brahmanagar Chauraha.
