Effective ways to stop your spouse from yelling at you

Fights are part and parcel of any relationship. It is only after a lot of fights, disagreements, and arguments that a couple is finally able to ‘settle’ in a relationship. Moreover, flights don’t matter as much as accepting one’s mistakes and apologizing to each other. However, what if your partner becomes too hyper and starts yelling at you? And what if this happens too frequently? For such cases, here is a look at effective ways to stop your spouse from yelling at you.

2/6

Try to stay calm

You shouldn't yell at your partner when they are doing the same with you because it will make things worse. Staying calm is the most important thing you must adhere to if you want to keep things in control and would like your partner to calm down. Your argument or fight will only escalate if you both start yelling.

3/6

Think about the options to deal with the situation

You know your partner very well. So obviously you must be knowing some ways that will help them calm down. Though dealing with the yelling is difficult, it is possible. Thus, think of possible ways to deal with the situation as you know your partner better than anyone else.

4/6

Analyze the situation

If you want your partner to stop yelling at you, try to analyze the situation. Are there any valid reasons behind their yelling? Did they have a traumatic past that still haunts them? Seeking answers to such questions might help you deal with the situation better.

5/6

Don't agree with everything they say

When your partner is yelling at you, chances are there that they might blame you for various things. In this case, don't agree with whatever they are saying. By agreeing to their blames you are telling them that they are right and giving them a reason to yell at you more.

6/6

Try to calm him down

It is common for yellers to lose track of things when they are angry. Thus, try to bring your partner back to reality. This will calm him down for the time being. Later, you can discuss the situation calmly and sort things out.

If you let an angry man vent out his steam he will get up next morning feeling guilty. Any other technique will cause him to feel suppressed (especially make him feel guilty) and only builds up long term resentment.
